Romance Novel Convention Preview

I'm insanely busy right now doing last minute packing and making other preparations for my trip. Hubs and I leave tomorrow morning to drive to Las Vegas where we'll be attending Jimmy Thomas's Romance Novel Convention. I attended the inaugural RNCon last year and had a really good time, so I immediately made it a goal to return this year. It already looks like it's shaping up to be a lot of fun.
The kick-off party on Wednesday evening is going to feature retro music and entertainment from the 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's. On Thursday, we'll be attending Sharon Hamilton's Military MASH themed costume ball. I'm keeping mine and hubs' costumes under wraps until then, but I'll offer the hint that they have something to with a previous blog post about something I love. On Friday, we have the InD'Tale RONE awards. Then all-day Saturday is the Book Fair and author signing in which I'll be participating. This will be my very first book signing, so I'm both nervous and excited at the same time. If you live in Las Vegas or are visiting the area, be sure to stop by. I'd love to meet you. You can also have your picture taken with a cover model or play strip bingo with the RNCasanovas. That evening we'll have the Casanova Challenge where they guys compete for the title of Mr. Casanova. On Sunday there'll be a live photo shoot for the Casanovas along with other wrap-up activities. And of course, all this is in addition to all the great educational classes that will be offered throughout the day Wednesday through Friday. Whew! It's going to be a busy and exciting five days.
My techie guru husband, Doug Miles (aka the Veritable Software guy), is going to be teaching two classes. The first is What You Need to Know to Talk to a Web Designer. The second is Virus Protection, Back-ups, Image File Types & Sizes, and Free Software For Writers. Hope some of you can make it to his classes and that no matter which classes you attend, you learn lots of valuable information to take home and apply to your writing careers.
Time and energy permitting, I'm going to try to post updates from the convention and maybe upload a few photos too. For those of you who are going like me, see you all there, and for those of you who couldn't make it, I hope you can come next year.
